World War II Company Street features seven buildings constructed at Fort Benning, Georgia in the early 1940s. The buildings were originally meant to last around 15 years, however, due to their sturdy construction many were still in use up until the early 1990s. One building in particular stands out more than others. Formerly building #3072 on Sand Hill, Fort Benning, was home to General George Patton as his sleeping quarters. The building wasn’t constructed from the 700 series plans because ther
