Nov 17, 2023 · I have used Sgt. Bilko's Wind Calculator program for the the last 2 years and with the exception of minor adjustments for different clubs and balls, his program works well and accurately for all wind variations of direction and force. Plus he has a handy putting calculator. With both I can get the answers as fast as I can type in the variables.

Take the vertical component of the wind in mph (with or against the direction of your shot) and multiply it by the distance in yards then divide by the magic # (180) and there's your correction.

Nov 9, 2022 · You need to go 103 yds. Divide the distance you need to hit by the maximum distance of the club you are using. So, 103/110 = .936 (convert to percentage 93.6). To go 103 yds with your PW you need to hit with 94% power. Best to map your irons by finding out the maximum distance for each club.

He calculates a ruler distance from the cross-wind component and provides a ruler to measure it directly on the screen. He does play a whole lot from experience but occasionally uses the ruler (as do I - often) to move the aimer.
