Since you know of different emulators, check to see if their compatibility lists mention any issues with the games you want to play.

Jan 25, 2022 · EPSXe is a much better and smoother experience. I found DuckStation much easier to make pretty graphics; but EPSXe better for (analog) gameplay. I am not sure. I am using an old Moto G5 and Retroarch with the PCSX rearmed core for PS1 emulation and it works much better than Duckstation.

Apr 11, 2022 · The PS1 emulators work really well but it's impossible to beat original hardware on a CRT imho. I usually play on my RetroPie using PCSXrearmed with an HDMI to VGA adapter for my CRT. If I had an original psx I'd absolutely mod it and play on that but they don't grow on trees and I'm not made of money so emulator it is for now.
