On Thursday, the Metropolitan Mosquito Control District said they found mosquitoes in Anoka and Carver counties with West Nile virus.

ST. PAUL, Minn. (CBS-KFGO) – The Metropolitan Mosquito Control District said Thursday that it found mosquitoes in Minnesota’s Anoka and Carver counties with West Nile virus. “The mosquito-borne disease risk tends to elevate as we get late into the summer,” said the district’s Alex Carlson.

The Stanislaus County Public Health Department has confirmed the first human case of West Nile Virus for 2025. Officials said the person was infected with West Nile Virus and developed neuroinvasive West Nile Virus, a neurological illness that can manifest after exposure.
