Heineman of Canadiens involved in traffic accident, out 3-4 weeks; Kaprizov, Faber out for Wild against Oilers

Toronto Maple Leafs practice went silent during the back half of practice after John Tavares went down with an injury. The 34-year-old went down in the corner while the team practiced the power play. Chris Tanev's left leg got caught with Tavares' skate, causing the forward to almost do the splits.

The Maple Leafs might have to find a way out of their losing streak without John Tavares. Toronto’s second-line centre departed practice on Wednesday at the Ford Performance Centre after he got tangled up with defenceman Chris Tanev.
