Millions of Americans live in areas under winter storm alerts stretching from northern Minnesota to the Eastern Seaboard.

A new winter storm is moving east on Monday, bringing dangerous wind, snow and ice to millions. Wind gusts up to 45 mph are possible in Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, Kentucky, West Virginia, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware and Maryland.

The latest winter storm to hit the Lehigh Valley delivered less than an inch of snow, but the bigger story was the icy slop created as sleet and even some freezing rain mixed in. Officially, 0.9 inches of snow and sleet, with a glaze of freezing rain, was reported at Lehigh Valley International Airport.

Weather warnings are in place for "heavy snow" and ice - causing major issues on the road network. This morning heavy snowfall made driving condition treacherous in Gwynedd and on Anglesey. There have been further issues on roads across the entire region as a new snow alert came into force on Sunday afternoon.

Another impactful winter storm is set to arrive as we head into the weekend, and it will bring a mix of snow and ice.

Officials in Vermont and Buffalo, N.Y., warned residents to stay off the roads as a winter weather system brought thick sheets of ice and snow. Tens of thousands of power customers faced outages.
