SLUBICE, Poland — Poland reinstated border controls on Monday with Germany and Lithuania, following similar German restrictions imposed earlier this year aimed at discouraging asylum-seekers.

Poland reintroduced border checks with Germany and Lithuania at midnight of July 8 in a temporary move aimed at curbing unauthorised migration. The controls will remain in place until August 5, the Interior Ministry said.

Poland introduced temporary controls on its borders with Germany and Lithuania on Monday, in what the government said was a step to check migrants more thoroughly amid public concerns over immigration.
