CAIRO (AP) — This week saw a dizzying escalation in the 11-month-old conflict between Israel and Lebanon’s Hezbollah. First came two days of exploding pagers and walkie-talkies used by Hezbollah — deadly attacks pinned on Israel that also maimed civilians around Lebanon.

Days after the attacks on Hezbollah with exploding electronic devices across Lebanon, Israel has struck a suburb of Beirut.

In a statement, the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) says that it also struck "a weapons storage facility in multiple areas in southern Lebanon" which it claims contained "approximately 150 launcher barrels that were ready to fire projectiles toward Israeli territory".
