Air India flight AI171, a Boeing 787-8 carrying 242 people, crashed after taking off from Ahmedabad on its way to London.
India aviation regulators said urgent safety checks would be carried out for dozens of Boeing Co. 787 jets in the wake of the Air India crash that killed all but one of the 242 people on board.
Air India directed to carry out Boeing 787 safety checks as families reunited with victims Missouri Governor Mike Kehoe on Thursday declared a State of Emergency and activated the Missouri National Guard in anticipation of protests across the state. They thought he was doing a different kind of "cruising."
Air India said it has completed such safety checks on nine of its Boeing 787 aircraft and is in process to complete it for the remaining 24 planes.
The accident happened just weeks after the company cut a deal with the U.S. government to avoid taking criminal responsibility for a pair of deadly crashes in 2018 and 2019.
