Amid the massive political row over the sexual assault case on Anna University's campus in Chennai, the BJP has alleged that the arrested accused is a DMK worker who has been involved in similar crime

On alleged sexual assault of a student inside Anna University campus, DMK MP Kanimozhi Karunanidhi said, “The Chief Minister has ordered action against the culprit without any bias. Accordingly, the accused has been arrested and action has been taken.

AIADMK leader Edappadi K Palaniswami called for a CBI probe into the rape of a student at Anna University, accusing the DMK of protecting the accused. Palaniswami highlighted the need for strict handling of such crimes and criticized the current government's approach.

Karnataka BJP said that as a mark of protest, Annamalai symbolically inflicted lashes on himself with a whip, representing divine faith and justice, to condemn the DMK government's inaction.
