The Indiana Department of Environmental Management said Northwest Indiana’s ozone levels are expected to be unhealthy for sensitive groups.

The Pollution Control Agency has issued a statewide air quality alert through 9 a.m. Monday because of Canadian wildfire smoke.

Unhealthy air quality is forecast, with periods of Very Unhealthy air quality possible for several hours. Folks should expect to see and smell smoke, and Air Quality Alerts are in effect. Conditions will improve slightly tonight through Sunday.

An air quality advisory will remain in effect for the Bay Area through at least Monday, as smoke from wildfires burning in far Northern California drifts into the region.
