The new Netflix logo’s only real crime is that it has no excuse to exist. Though, sure, graphics are trending flat, so thick extrusions are out of fashion.

Some thought the new icon, a simple red 'N' on a black background, was a new logo - but Netflix said the design, which appeared on its Facebook and Twitter accounts Monday was an addition.
