EDMONTON -- Connor McDavid scored the only goal on his 28th birthday, and Stuart Skinner made 30 saves for the Edmonton Oilers in a 1-0 win against the Los Angeles Kings at Rogers Place on Monday. It was McDavid’s 72nd game-winning goal, tying Glenn Anderson for the most in franchise history.

Conor McDavid and Vasily Podkolzin scored third-period goals to lift the Edmonton Oilers to a 5-3 win over the Minnesota Wild Wednesday night at Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul, Minn. The Wild (27-14-4) and Oilers (28-13-3) were tied 3-3 entering the third period before Podkolzin and McDavid's goals pushed them over the top.

Marcus Johansson was the latest Wild player to get hurt. It came at the end of the second period. Johansson, 34, has played in 44 of the team's 45 games this year. He has five goals and 16 points. The 6-foot-1 forward was in the defensive zone when he caught an elbow from Edmonton Oilers forward Connor McDavid.
