Prosecutors plan to seek the death penalty against one of the men involved in the ambush at a Saint Alphonsus hospital in Boise earlier this year if he’s found guilty of the first-degree murder of a North Idaho man, according to a news release from the Nez Perce County Prosecutor’s Office and online court records.

Prosecutors intend to seek the death penalty if an Idaho white supremacist gang member is convicted of killing a man while he was on the run.

Umpnenhour’s next hearing is set for Dec. 12. Meade has retained death-penalty certified lawyer Anne Taylor, who has been in the public spotlight for defending Bryan Kohberger, the man accused of killing four University of Idaho students two years ago. It’s unclear whether or not Umphenour has also retained Taylor.
