The Seattle Seahawks have entirely changed their wide receiver room this offseason. Jaxon Smith-Njigba is now the new No. 1 option after the front office traded DK Metcalf to the Pittsburgh Steelers and released Tyler Lockett from the roster.

The NFL Network reported that the trade came after Metcalf agreed to a new contract with the Steelers, a four-year deal worth $132 million that keeps him with Pittsburgh through the 2029 season. He had one year and $18 million left on his contract for this season with Seattle.

Metcalf has been fantastic with the Seahawks, posting 900+ yards in each of his six seasons in the NFL. With Seattle going through some pains at quarterback with Geno Smith, Metcalf didn't quite emerge in 2024 the way that he might have with another signal-caller throwing him the ball.
