The potential Warner Bros. Discovery sale might jeopardize a lively outlet for artier stand-up shows like those of Sarah Sherman and Adam Pally.

HBO Max first hinted at bringing curated channels to its streaming service last year, when it launched always-on channels that mirror the content playing on its linear HBO channels. These new channels are available to all users on adult profiles from the “channels” rail on the homepage.

HBO Max’s Heated Rivalry has quickly become one of the platform’s most talked-about series, which blends professional hockey with an intense romance.

The two streamers have picked up the hockey romance Heated Rivalry for a second season. The renewal comes four episodes into the show’s six-episode season and on the heels/skate blades of the show becoming a word-of-mouth breakout on both sides of the border.

The season finale directly sets up the events of a certain haunted house-themed Stephen King novel readers know and love.
