A tropical disturbance expected to form in the Caribbean Sea in the coming days has a medium chance – 50% – of further development over the next week, according to the National Hurricane Center.

A tropical system in the Caribbean Sea could develop as it moves northward into the Gulf of Mexico, the National Hurricane Center says.

Hurricane forecasters continue to monitor a broad area of low pressure in the Caribbean Sea and two low-pressure systems stirring in the Atlantic Ocean, according to the National Hurricane Center in Miami. The area of low-pressure in the Caribbean has a chance of developing into a tropical system early to the middle of next week, forecasters said.
