NHL off-season thus far has been rather uneventful compared to summers of the past, the Edmonton Oilers have nevertheless made multiple changes to their roster, particularly (and almost exclusively) towards their forward core.

Edmonton Oilers fans weren’t the only ones who were thrilled by the Andrew Mangiapane signing. The 29-year-old hit the free-agent market following his lone season with the Washington Capitals, and agreed to a two-year, $7.2-million deal with the Oilers that will carry a cap hit of $3.6 million.

The Edmonton Oilers on Tuesday night signed forward Andrew Mangiapane, 29, to a two-year contract that carries an average annual value of $3.6 million, the club announced, adding a veteran who might be able to fill the slot left behind by Corey Perry.
