Recovery of fines raised through e-challans reduced in 2024 to Rs 3,834 crore compared to Rs 4,150 crore in 2023, while unpaid fines spiked.

Addressing the provincial assembly, Law and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Zia-ul-Hasan Lanjar said an eight-member panel had been formed to conduct a comprehensive review of the fine structure.

Eight-member body comprising four PPP lawmakers, three MQM-P and one from PTI; maiden meeting to be held next week.
