Brooklyn Nets legend Vince Carter explained prior to Saturday's game against the Miami Heat how playing for the Nets set him up for the Hall-of-Fame.

Carter's No. 15 will be retired at halftime of Brooklyn's game against the Heat. His jersey was retired by the Toronto Raptors on Nov. 2 against the Atlanta Hawks, another former team of Carter's. His Nets jersey retirement was announced back in September, so fans and the organization have been anticipating this moment for a long time.

The Brooklyn Nets have not had much to be happy about this season due to how much the team is struggling with inconsistent play and injuries throughout the year. However, Saturday gave them a chance to shake things up as they were able to retire Vince Carter's Nets jersey into the rafters of Barclays Center for the rest of the fanbase to see forever.

Carter's No. 15 was raised to the rafters Saturday with legends Buck Williams and Julius Erving in attendance.

On January 25 2025 at the Barclays Center, the Brooklyn Nets honored Vince Carter by retiring his iconic No. 15 jersey.

Brown is most known for being banned by the NCAA and NBA for his involvement in a point-shaving scandal. Due to the ban, he ended up in the ABA, making four All-Star teams and winning three championships with the Pacers. He was such a great player that Pacers legend Reggie Miller once called Brown "the greatest player to never play in the NBA."

Now in his first season as a Brooklyn Nets television analyst, Carter retired in 2020 after an NBA-record 22 seasons at age 43 and was inducted into the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame last year.

While star Jimmy Butler served the second half of his two-game suspension, the Heat snapped a two-game skid with a road win over the Nets.

After becoming a Hall of Famer in October and the first player to have his jersey retired by the Toronto Raptors in November, Vince Carter watched his No. 15 Nets jersey rise to rafters at Barclays Center on Saturday.

The Nets’ retired jersey banners had since moved from New Jersey to Brooklyn, so Carter made it to the rafters at Barcu0007lays Center. The Hall of Famer stood and watched the large banner with his No. 15 being raised to conclude his jersey retirement ceremony at halftime of the Nets-Heat game.
