Amber Glenn repeated as U.S. figure skating champion, overtaking Alysa Liu by the second-closest margin under a two-decade-old scoring system. Glenn totaled 216.79 points between Thursday’s short program and Friday’s free skate in Wichita, Kansas. She turned a 5.45-point deficit to Liu after the short to a victory over Liu by 1.46 points.
A strong free skate gave Glenn a winning score of 216.79, edging Alysa Liu (215.33) and 18-year-old Sarah Everhardt, from Haymarket, Virginia.
The U.S. worlds team was chosen during the U.S. national championships in Wichita over the weekend, and skaters are starting to put together their resume for the 2026 Milano Cortina Winter Olympics next February.
