Indian Railways (IR) is gearing up to introduce the Vande Bharat Sleeper train, a state-of-the-art addition to its fleet. The train, unveiled by Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw in September 2024, is currently undergoing trial runs in Rajasthan’s Kota.

Vande Bharat Sleeper trains entered the last round of trials. The sleeper trains of the Vande Bharat Express series are likely to be operational this month but the official date is yet to be announced.

Vande Bharat Sleeper is undergoing trials at various speeds, both loaded and unloaded. Tests are being conducted on its braking system, air suspension, and coupler force. The train is likely to join the commercial operations soon.
