The Senate voted along party lines last night to confirm senior Justice Department official Emil Bove to the 3rd U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals. Bove, a former personal defense attorney for President Donald Trump, faced several whistleblower allegations about his conduct at the department, which he denied.

The president's trade move comes before his Aug 1. deadline for higher reciprocal tariffs on goods from nearly 180 countries across the world.
