ANN ARBOR, Mich. — Go figure, a top-five matchup that lived up to its billing. And Michigan came out on top. The No. 3-ranked Wolverines went wire to wire with unbeaten Nebraska on Tuesday night, trailing for most of the game before a late flurry sparked a 75-72 victory at Crisler Center.
The No. 5 Cornhuskers went into Michigan and controlled most of Tuesday's matchup against the 3rd-ranked Wolverines. But Michigan kept things close in the face of hot early 3-point shooting from Nebraska and rallied for a 75-72 win.
Trey McKenney made a tiebreaking layup with 1:07 left and No. 3 Michigan rallied past No. 5 Nebraska 75-72 to hand the Cornhuskers their first loss this season.
