Former U.S. president Jimmy Carter will be honored at a state funeral in Washington on Thursday. Carter died on Dec. 29 at the age of 100, living longer than any other U.S. president. As the 39th U.S. President he struggled with a bad economy and an Iranian hostage crisis but went on to a long and admired post-White House career.
