Recent rumors circulating online suggest that Player 246 may still be alive following the tragic events of Squid Game Season 2. This character, played by Lee Jin-Wook, is named Gyeong-seok. He entered the deadly survival games in hopes of earning money for his daughter’s treatment.

Since its premiere on December 26, 2024, over 150 million people have watched the long-awaited series Squid Game season 2, making it Netflix’s biggest TV debut ever. However, not all viewers have probably caught on to the myriad of details its director Hwang Dong-hyuk has hidden and scattered throughout the episodes.

Squid Game creator Hwang Dong-hyuk recently explained why Season 2 features a character named Thanos, after the Marvel villain. Speaking to Netflix, Hwang said the name was chosen to give the character global appeal.
