The decision by the GOP-controlled legislature follows similar moves by about two dozen states. Kansas’s Democratic governor had vetoed the bill last year.

Banning puberty blockers, cross-sex hormones and surgeries has been a Republican priority for years, but they got enough support to overturn a veto.
