Storm Benjamin has officially hit Yorkshire and is expected to last until 9pm tonight (Thursday, October 23) - with forecasts of strong winds of up to 70mph and up to 50mm of rain in some areas.

Storm Benjamin will batter the UK with heavy rain and winds of more than 70mph this week, forecasters have said.

Large waves and debris thrashed onto sea fronts, coastal roads, and properties in the blustery conditions could lead to injuries and a “danger to life”, the Met Office warned.
