While $88 million would normally be considered a slow start for a movie on the scale of "Fire and Ash," the box-office run for "Avatar" movies tends to be a marathon, not a sprint. The series is known for having significant staying power in theaters for several weeks.

Avatar has been adapted into both a comic series and a trilogy of graphic novels, and in December 2023, Ubisoft released the video game Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora. The game allows players to step into the role of a Na’vi who awakens from suspended animation, only to discover that Pandora is under attack.

With the latest (and longest) installment of the Avatar franchise now out on the 2025 movie schedule, I think this is a good time as any to bring up my biggest complaint. Don’t get me wrong, I loved Fire and Ash and think it’s a cinematic achievement, but I can only sit in a chair for so long. Hear me out!
