A federal judge ordered Elon Musk and the Department of Government Efficiency, or DOGE, to hand over documents and answer questions about their plans to trim federal agencies. US District Judge Tanya Chutkan said in her order on Wednesday that Musk and DOGE have to comply with the discovery request in three weeks.

Republicans, particularly those in Congress, have been overwhelmingly supportive of broad cuts across the federal government at the hands of Elon Musk’s Department of Government Efficiency.

Since McLaurine Pinover became the Office of Personnel Management’s director of communications, she’s been one of the highest profile defenders of Elon Musk and DOGE’s most unpopular moves to the media.
