Everything was pretty close to perfect for the White Sox over eight innings Wednesday night at Dodger Stadium before the Dodgers turned things into another perfect day in Los Angeles with three runs in the ninth for a 5-4 victory.

It took 100 pitches and six innings, but Kershaw finally notched the three strikeouts the Dodgers left-hander needed.

It was a night that promised history and yet delivered a familiar dose of heartbreak to White Sox fans. While Clayton Kershaw etched his name into the annals of baseball history with his 3,000th career strikeout, Chicago once again perfected their signature move: blowing another close game.
