The Cleveland Browns’ quarterback situation has spiraled from an intriguing four-way competition to an all-out injury crisis in a matter of days, forcing the team to make an emergency signing just to field enough healthy bodies for Friday’s preseason opener against the Carolina Panthers.

ESPN's Adam Schefter reported Monday the Browns are signing Tyler Huntley since Kenny Pickett and Dillon Gabriel are dealing with hamstring injuries and Shedeur Sanders is working through a sore shoulder. "The Browns need another arm," Schefter wrote. "Enter Huntley."

Late Monday, the Browns signed Tyler Huntley. The Athletic's Zac Jackson was flabbergasted by the move. The Browns beat writer summed it up on X like this: "This is unbelievable for many reasons, most of all that all four were involved in practice today on some level."
