The Clackamas County Sheriff's Office is investigating the death, which was deemed "suspicious," based on the circumstances and later determined to be homicide.

At the time, police only described Crosse’s death as “suspicious.” An autopsy performed by the Oregon State Medical Examiner’s Office later determined the manner of death to be homicide. No other details were released and so far no arrests have been made.
