Halle Berry is no longer able to wear her Cannes opening night dress because outfits with long trains are banned from the red carpet.

Cannes Film Festival officially kicked off on May 13, beginning an 11-day showcase for some of the buzziest upcoming films. Take a look at all the fashion — and the red carpet styles.

A rep tells THR that festival’s official charter was just updated to reflect “certain rules that have long been in effect” and the aim is “not to regulate attire per se but to prohibit full nudity on the carpet.
