Phoenix Union High School District is implementing additional safety measures after a student was stabbed and killed in a classroom at Maryvale High School, prompting community concerns about campus safety.

A student is dead and another student is in custody after a fight led to a stabbing inside a classroom at Maryvale High School Tuesday morning.

A Phoenix police officer working as a school safety officer at Maryvale High School was alerted of an assault in one of the classrooms, police said.
