Former Democratic Party presidential candidate Marianne Williamson has announced her candidacy to chair the Democratic National Committee.

Marianne Williamson, the self-help author who has staged two long-shot Democratic campaigns for president, announced Thursday that she was joining the race for chair of the Democratic National Committee.

"My experience of what went wrong has given me insight into what needs doing to make things right," Williamson wrote Thursday.
