SRINAGAR (Reuters) -Rescuers in Indian Kashmir used shovels and earthmovers to search for survivors under boulders and debris on Friday, a day after sudden floods triggered by heavy rains killed at least 60 people and left 200 others missing.

Rescue workers retrieved more bodies from mud and debris in the flood-hit Kishtwar region of Indian Kashmir on Friday, raising the death toll to 65, while fatalities were also reported from neighbouring Pakistan.

Flash floods caused by torrential rains in a remote village in India-controlled Kashmir have left at least 56 people dead and scores missing, authorities said Thursday, as rescue teams scouring the devastated Himalayan village brought at least 300 people to safety.
