"The Suicide Squad" writer-director James Gunn on his film's politics, Margot Robbie's rampage and the fallout from getting fired by Disney.
Ironically, the critters play a big role in Gunn’s film with Ratcatcher 2, her furry BFF Sebastian (played by real animals, including one named Squeaky) and a squad of computer-generated rodents.
Gunn also reinvents characters featured in the 2016 "Suicide Squad" movie. Rick Flag (Joel Kinnaman) wasn't very impressive in the earlier film, but he's a bonafide hero in this one.
Gunn described his Suicide Squad as "gory." " [The] movies that it's somewhat based on, those 1970s war movies, those are hardcore movies," Safran explained.
