Israel launched a surprise attack on a range of targets in Iran, sparking a barrage of missile attacks from Iran into Israel. Iran claimed it had taken down three Israeli F-35 fighter jets, and an apparent image of one such jet spread across the internet.

Israel launched a series of major airstrikes overnight targeting an Iranian nuclear testing facility and missile production sites, the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) said. Over 60 jets were involved in the attacks, dropping more than 120 munitions.
