The White House does not have the direct power to revoke accreditation, but it has alerted Harvard’s accreditor about the university’s non-compliance with standards.

U.S. President Donald Trump’s administration escalated its feud with Harvard University on Wednesday, declaring the Ivy League school may no longer meet the standards for accreditation and that it would subpoena it for records about its international students.

Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem accused Harvard of allowing "foreign students to abuse their visa privileges and advocate for violence and terrorism on campus."
