The Cowboys have until 3 p.m. Tuesday to finalize what their roster will look like to open the 2025 season. Dallas started to make some moves Sunday, starting with their expected release of La’el Collins. The veteran offensive lineman notably rejoined the Cowboys in camp as the team battled some key injuries.

Archer noted that despite Collins' release, his work with the team's younger lineman was praised by coaches. The 32-year-old appeared in three preseason games with Dallas after the team signed him as a free agent on Aug. 1. Collins was previously a member of the Cowboys from 2015-21.

The Cowboys are looking to bounce back from a disappointing 7-10 season that went off the rails long before quarterback Dak Prescott was lost to injury midseason. New head coach Brian Schottenheimer gets his first crack at commanding an entire team after spending the last three seasons as the offensive coordinator for Mike McCarthy.
