BJP leader Annamalai protested against the Tamil Nadu government by whipping himself, citing ongoing injustices. He vowed to fast for 48 days and not wear footwear until the ruling party is removed.

Annamalai was seen whipping himself and after he completed his six-whip, one of the men standing behind rushed towards him and stopped him from further whipping himself.

Annamalai said that the alleged perpetrator has links to the DMK, which the party denied. During the press conference, he showed pictures of the accused with DMK leaders, saying the accused was emboldened due to his connection with those in power.
