Great opportunity to get an up close view of railroad history. It was enjoyable to walk through the old cars and see the massive engines. Glad we visited. Full review by Nancy D

Agree - only sensible way is to drive to Galveston. The museum is well worth the visit though, and Galveston itself is a great place to hang out. Lots of great restaurants, cafes and bars. Shame there's no direct public rail link but this is America after all where passenger rail is considered archaic and redundant. (Sorry - my bad - I come from Europe where the view is somewhat different - LOL)
Q:
Where does the train take you?
A:
No trains moving just trains from long ago to look at. Great for train buffs.
Q:
How much is admission
A:
The answers already given are correct. Adults $10; Seniors $8; Kids $5
Q:
is this the closest Amtrak to Texas city Texas from waycross Georgia
A:
This isn't really a working Amtrak depot - its a museum. But the closest Amtrak to Texas City Texas is the Amtrak located in Houston Texas. Hope this helps!!
